FAQ
What are stems?
Stems are needed to mix a track, every stem will be mixed separately to achieve the best possible result.
A stem is a separate audio track that contains a specific group of audio signals. For example, a stem might contain all of the drums in a recording, or all of the vocals, or all of the guitars.
Its also possible to render all mixer channels individually and use all the separate renders as stems.
Do I need to select the amount of stems for mastering?
No, we only need your full track for the mastering process.
How do I send my track/stems?
You can email your track to: Info@eratostudio.com
Make sure you add your order number to the mail subject. (you will receive the order number in you email after buying one of our services)
The size of my file is too big to send with email, how do I send it?
You can use the free service of WeTransfer to send files up to 2 GB, make sure you add your order number to the title of your WeTransfer mail.
What file type do I need to send?
16 bit WAV or 24 bit WAV files, make sure your track/stems dont go up to/over 0 dB. (keep it -6dB to be safe)
How do I know if my track needs to be mixed or masterd?
If your track sounds unbalanced, muddy, clouded, thin or weak and it lacks clarity, then your track needs to mixed.
If your track does not have any of those problems but it needs a final touch to make it sound professional, loud and Spotify ready, then your track needs to be masterd.
If you don’t know how to mix or master yourself and you want your track to sound the best it possibly can, then your best option will be to do both.
What is a reference track?
A reference track is a existing song that is used as a point of comparison while mixing and/or mastering. Reference tracks are often chosen because they are well-known, high quality and have a similar style or genre compared to your music.
In what language can I take private classes?
You can take private classes in English, of gewoon in het Nederlands 😉
